Biofield science, energy medicine, and quantum biology are steadily gaining traction in scientific communities, showing promise for the future of these biofield therapies in integrative and holistic health practices. Some Western hospitals already offer biofield therapies as part of holistic health.

Results of research correlating biophoton (light) emission with human physiology, suggest the existence of coherent biophoton fields that play fundamental roles in intercellular signaling and human health (Glob Adv Health Med. 2015 Nov 1;4(Suppl):8–14).

Quantum Physics findings are mirroring the inner world of the body and biofield. Surrounding everything is not empty space, but a quantum field teeming with vacuum fluctuations and energy in the minute scale. Everything exists as a potential in the quantum field. The observer effect is the phenomenon in which the act of observation alters the behavior of the particles being observed. This effect is due to the wave-like nature of matter, which means that particles can exist in multiple states simultaneously. The wave-particle duality experiments have long hounded scientists.

Quantum entanglement allows action on one part of the particle to affect the other split part of the particle a long distance away, studied in CERN experiments in Geneva. This conceptually explains how we transmit Reiki healing energies from a distance. 

Epigenetics are showing us how our thoughts and words are the programs we give our body and thus change our physiology and the rate of which our body heals. Placebo effect experiments are a classic example of this.

The biofield have been measured by devices such as using the Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technology, based on the Kirlian effect, which captures the electromagnetic emissions from biological objects placed within high-intensity electromagnetic fields. The GDV device uses a combination of electrical impulses and optical systems to visualize the energy fields, allowing for real-time analysis of the subject's energy state.
